Multi-storey apartment blocks - family/senior homes.
Englund Herlev is a project that consists of 98 family apartments and 30 senior apartments, with a total area of 10,977 m2 consisting of five apartment blocks and underground car park. Engparken is close to Engskolen school in Herlev, next to S-banen (local urban rail network). This means that a noise barrier will be built facing the S-Banen track.
The project developer is PKA Pension, whom we also have helped to build other projects in Aarhus, including Chr. X. The contract was signed at the beginning of 2021, at around the time that two years had passed since we heard of the project for the first time. Many things can happen that can cause a project to take time, from the preliminary meetings to the signing of the contract. For example, we had to wait for answers from the Danish tax authorities on whether VAT no longer applied because of the previous developer. This can have an impact on the project’s final budget but only after this could we meet PKA Pension’s wishes for the project and create the project folder.
The development’s façades are made from light yellow bricks. Windows and exterior doors have a dark/black painted surface, which contrasts with the openings in the façade. The balconies are underplayed on the façade and have a raw, galvanised surface.
