JCN Bolig will construct 224 homes and 2 associated community houses in Hvidovre. The large construction site is divided into two plots connected by a network of pathways and is part of the new neighborhood “Gartnerhaven.” The project is being built for Plushusene, owned by M+ Invest and NREP. Plushusene is Denmark’s largest co-housing concept.
At JCN Bolig, we are very pleased to have secured this contract, which we won in competition with two other turnkey contractors. The project will be certified for sustainability according to DGNB Gold standards and the EU Taxonomy. We’ve had a strong start to our collaboration with Plushusene and the other stakeholders, and we look forward to moving ahead.
The development is a combination of apartment buildings and townhouses, and JCN Bolig is one of the few turnkey contractors in the industry with the expertise to deliver large-scale mixed housing projects like this. We have extensive experience planning and executing combinations of different residential types—even at a significant scale, as seen in this project. Our approach is called “JCN Bolig 360,” a concept that has proven highly successful in collaboration with developers on these diverse building types, which otherwise often require multiple contractors.
The Plushusene project is divided into six phases, in which the two community houses and the 224 residences will be developed. The townhouses will include both single-story and two-story homes, while the apartments will be spread across eight three-story buildings. One of the community houses will be two stories, and the other single-story. Green outdoor spaces will be established between the buildings to support community and well-being.
