JCN Bolig has entered into a partnership with PensionDanmark for the development of "Sommarivabyen." The project is an urban development initiative focused on community building, biodiversity, natural and landscape values, ambitious sustainability goals, and, not least, high-quality housing.
Sommarivabyen in Helsingør is a development project where location and sustainability are top priorities. A mixed residential area is being constructed, featuring both high-quality apartment units and townhouses. The focus is on creating optimal conditions for community life, including two shared community spaces. Sommarivabyen draws inspiration from the unique landscape of Helsingør—characterized by the dramatic coastal slopes and the flat terrain of the former seabed facing the Øresund Strait. The site was previously home to football fields and served as a gathering place for the Danish national football team, which has since relocated. For many years, the stadium grounds have also been a local hub for the city’s residents to engage in leisure activities.
PensionDanmark aims to develop a residential area shaped by the striking surrounding landscape, the site's significant cultural-historical heritage, and the desire to create an attractive and distinctive project. Sommarivabyen is meant to give back to the city, with efforts to restore the area as closely as possible to its original topography and to enhance local biodiversity.
PensionDanmark won a municipal tender by offering a competitive price for the land along with an impressive concept proposal. JCN Bolig is now tasked with realizing these strong ideas and ambitions in the best possible way—within the desired budget, timeframe, and quality standards. Sommarivabyen will be built with a strong emphasis on sustainability, a low carbon footprint, and will be DGNB Gold certified.
