New Large Residential Project in Hvidovre

28 April 2025

The turnkey contract has been signed, and as soon as the building permit is in place, construction will begin on 224 homes and 2 associated community houses in Hvidovre.

The large construction area, divided into two plots connected by a path network, is part of the new neighborhood “Gartnerhaven” in Hvidovre. The project is being developed for Plushusene, which is owned by M+ Invest and NREP. Plushusene is Denmark’s largest co-housing concept.

Lars P. Adamsen, Director of Sales and Development at JCN Bolig, states:

“We are extremely pleased to have secured this contract, which we won in competition against two other turnkey contractors. The project will be sustainability certified at the DGNB Gold level and comply with the EU taxonomy. We have had a good start to the collaboration with Plushusene and the other stakeholders and look forward to getting started. It’s a large and exciting project.”
The development is a combination of apartment buildings and townhouses, and JCN Bolig is one of the few turnkey contractors in the industry with expertise in constructing combination projects of this scale.

Lars P. Adamsen adds:

“We have extensive and valuable experience in planning and building a mix of residential types – also on a large scale – as is the case with this project. Our concept for this is called ‘JCN Bolig 360’. We have had great success with it in collaboration with developers on these highly diverse building types, which otherwise often require a combination of several contractors.”
The Plushusene project is divided into 6 phases, comprising the two community houses and 224 homes. The development will include single-story and two-story townhouses, as well as apartment units distributed across 8 three-story apartment buildings. One community house will be built on two stories, the other as a single-story building. Green outdoor spaces will be established between the buildings.

The project’s architect is Sweco Architects, with engineering firm Arne Elkjær serving as engineer.

The site is located not far from JCN Bolig’s ongoing project for AKF in Hvidovre, which consists of 171 residences, combining apartment blocks and a high-rise tower.

Construction is expected to start in spring 2025.
